The blue corduroy jacket is the most recognizable symbol of the organization. The uniform worn by FFA members at local, state, and national functions is called Official Dress. It provides identity and gives a distinctive and recognizable image to the organization and its members. FFA jackets will have the student’s name on the front and Friendswood, Texas on the back.
Events that students wear Official Dress:
Speaking Development Events
District, Area, and State Convention
Chapter Meetings and Banquet
Fundraising Events
Various local functions
Leadership Development Events
*Students do NOT need a jacket for livestock shows!
Women’s Official Dress: Official FFA jacket, white collared dress shirt, official FFA scarf, black plain pencil skirt, black dress heels (preferred: 1/2 in to 1 in heel/matte leather), black panty hose (not tights).
Men’s Official Dress: Official FFA jacket, white collared dress shirt, official FFA tie, black slacks, black dress shoes, black socks.
There are a limited number jackets that the chapter owns, which students may borrow for competitions, contests, and conferences on a first come, first serve basis.
Students may purchase an FFA jacket at any point in time during the year, so there is no deadline for ordering the jacket. However, there is a 2-4 week turnaround time so please order in advance.
